Left behind

I remember being in a worship band that came with a sound technician, and lights and smoke machines. We would play, dance, worship, and then be gone…

What happens to the worship leader if they are unable to reach the musicality of the traveller… the local pastor who has to write a new sermon every week, compared to the finely crafted  sermon of the itinerant speaker with the one talk s/he peddles (earnestly) over and over again…

I wonder… if sometimes, we should choose faithfulness to the local, over the brilliance of the global.

Those left behind will continue on…

Leadership as Story Listening…

Here is a great video I found on SwissMiss about leadership and story telling. Many of you know I have argued vociferously for change of language… of a complete doing away of the language of leadership to a language and culture of service.

I have been an advocate of listening as the key tool to effective evangelism and community, and this puts it brilliantly.
